The Tale of the Golden Fisherman
One day the Golden Fisherman cast his line in a new lake. Not a minute had passed when he caught a golden fish that spoke to him."Do not eat me, Golden Fisherman, for I am Hope, and I can help you catch the great demon Tiao that haunts this lake."
But the Fisherman didn't hear her, and put her in his basket. Then he cast his line a second time - and this time the great Tiao swallowed the lure. The lake churned as he rose from his deep home, and the waves crashed as he roared his challenge.
"I am Taio, and I am Fear! Who are you, that you dare cast you lines in my lake without a permission?"
The Fisherman had nothing to say, and was ready to perish by the teeth of the demon, when he heard a tiny voice from his basket. It was Hope.
"Free me, Fisherman, and I will help you conquer Tiao!"
And so he did.
The small golden fish turned into a young maiden, and with a gesture she turned the great demon into a jet-black fugu fish. Lost in his new tiny body, Tiao flopped helplessly in the shallows. Hope tied him to the Fisherman's pole and said to him.
"The demon is now yours - trapped like this, he must perform three great tasks for you to earn his freedom!"
And so the Golden Fisherman thanked Hope and went on his way, with Tiao chained to his fishing pole until he completes his three great tasks.
